effects of lasik laser eye surgery
Vision-correction surgery in the Navy…?
I am currently a 4/c midn in NROTC, and was wondering what the Navy’s policy was on laser-eye surgery or lasik for current midn or newly commissioned officers.
I’m already waiting for a medical waiver so that my national scholarship will be activated. My vision is currently 48-17 (at least that’s what is says on the brim of my glasses) and I have never worn contacts. Is this even correctable?
As for after my commissioning, I am considering being a surface nuke, a naval flight officer, or going green- becoming a Marine. Will the surgery disqualify me from, or negatively effect my chances in any of those fields?
if you get it before you Commission, you will be DQd. wait until AFTER you become a Butter Bar.
