laser eye surgery under eye

Does sugar level increase after laser eye surgery.?

Mom had a laser surgery to get clots (blood) removed.The sugar levels which were under control suddenly shot up.She is a diabetic patient since a long time.

NO NO NO never!
The conditions where it can rise in postoperative patient are the following-
(1)Discontinuation of insulin or hypoglycemic agent.
(2)Taking large amount of Sugar/Fructose(e.g. Fruit)
(3)Less physical activity.Less burning of calories.
(4)Insulin resistance.usually insulin resistance will increase with age.
(5) After any stress(e.g. Surgery) body adrenalin level will b high(although for a very short period),that time blood sugar level will be high ,and to control that a large amount of insulin will be required.otherwise blood sugar level will be high
Advise-
take medication in proper way,less /no intake of very sweet fruit,try to do exercise etc.
