Whats actually wrong with my eyesight?

My prescription is 4.5 in my right eye, 5 in my left, and Im long sighted. But when I have my glasses/contacts off my vision doesn’t change, even if I don’t have them on for a few days. All that happens is that I get a squint.
I’m not sure if that’s enough info to tell, but is this a different type of bad eyesight or what, and can it be fixed with laser surgery or anything?
