eye laser surgery british army

why don’t the British army approve of laser eye surgery?

I’m really wanting to get laser eye surgery but I’m currently serving in the army and I don’t think they approve of it.

Can anyone tell me why and what re the consequences if I got it and they found out?

thanks

You are asking for a answer to an assumption. When did the British Army stop teaching you lot that assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups?

Perhaps you should ask your Medical Officers? You could even Google the answer, find it on Army Website. You have to pass a Visual Examination on a regular basis, the guidelines make reference to both lasik and PRK for Combatants, Pilots, Desk Orientated Staff, Support Staff etc etc etc.

You’ll also find that most, if not all Laser Vision Correction clinics in the UK offer 10%+ discounts to MOD – that includes you. Your military magazine / booklet with discounted providers – will have at least 5 different companies advertising in it.

You certainly can have treatment – but make sure you read through the guidelines on time frames and suitability first.
