Benefits of lasik surgery
People who have been wearing corrective eyewear for a long time and those who are hampered with their career opportunities because of eye problems should consider lasik eye surgery.
This is because there are many benefits with the surgery, which includes immediate improvement in vision, the possibility of discontinuing usage of corrective eyewear and contact lenses and in the process, experience better social, recreational and career opportunities.
Immediate improvement in vision
The greatest benefit of lasik surgery is that you find a dramatic improvement in your vision within a few moments of completing the procedure. Though you may have to wait about six months before you experience complete visual acuity, most patients claim near perfect vision during examinations on the next day of the surgery.
With this, they immediately stop using glasses or contact lenses and experience freedom from wearing corrective eyewear and contact lenses for so long. In fact, in most cases, patients have better eyesight than they had while wearing spectacles and contacts.
Freedom from carrying back-up spectacles
So you no longer have to worry about broken spectacles, losing your contacts, carrying cleaning and storage solutions wherever you go and spending so much on replacements whenever a refractive has to be changed. Just imagine so much freedom just through lasik surgery.
Without worrying about spectacles or contacts, you experience the added benefit of not having to carry back-up glasses and all those solutions when you go traveling. You can also partake of all those activities that was difficult to do with spectacles like swimming, sky-diving and scuba diving.
Better career opportunities
Another benefit of lasik surgery is that you have a wider choice of career opportunities to choose from. This is because some career fields like aviation and law enforcement don’t enroll people who are dependant on refractive solutions. So with lasik surgery, you can become the pilot you had always dreamed of becoming.
Besides all these practical benefits, there is a psychological benefit associated with lasik surgery. After the surgery, you feel a sense of self-confidence as you usually look better without spectacles.
In addition to this, you are no longer dependant on spectacles and contacts for clear vision. This means that you need not worry about last minute accidents where your spectacles break or contacts fall during parties, when in office or school or while exercising or playing contact sports.
With lasik surgery offering so many benefits, it is a surgery practically everyone dependant on glasses and contacts should consider undergoing.

Is there any way I can wear my prescription under the water?
I’m going to attend some scuba diving classes with a couple of my friends and I can’t wear my contacts under the water and I don’t want to smash my glasses under the goggles. And laser eye surgery is not an option.
Your contacts aren’t going to get wet under the goggles, sweetie. Haha, and even if they do, it won’t be too bad. Another option is, I heard of goggles that can be prescription made for your eyesight. Maybe Google it?
