Can the salary/career of optometry get wiped out by laser eye surgeory?

So is eye surgery a threat to the amount of salary an optometrist recieves? I think this because the surgery will prevent people from needing eye glasses, and thus not see an OD Can corrective surgery deplete the entire career of optometry?

No. Simply because there are so many people (myself included) who cannot have laser surgery on their eyes due to a stigmatism or other conditions that cannot be corrected by surgery.
