Lasik Eye Surgery Option Of Being Put To Sleep?

I’m pretty sure that this is a no way but you see i cant stand things touching my eye may it be a finger a laser or opening my eyes underwater i still cant do it and yeah i know they num ur eye and all that but its still a problem for me, so say i payed alot extra could i get put to sleep?…

No, the doctor mostly likely WILL NOT give you the option of being put to sleep for the surgery. I actually did a great deal of research on this before having had the surgery done last Sept. It IS medically possibly but because it is considered a ‘minor’ surgery the use of general anesthesia is deemed excessive. Mostly likely you will be offered a muscle relaxer such Valium 15 minutes before the procedure. In addition you will have a numbing solution put into your eye. I have a difficult time with things touching my eye as well and the recovery process took me longer than most. (I was flushed, light-headed, and nauseous for about 2 or 3 hrs.) I accompanied a friend to the surgery a few months ago and he felt completely fine 20 minutes after the surgery. If you are are considering it – I have NO REGRETS and definitely think it’s worth enduring the temporary pain in light of the long term benefits!
