How Do You Become a Male Model in Los Angeles?

I’m 20 years old. I’m currently bleaching my teeth. I’ll have a flawless set of pearly whites in a few months. I’ve got some weight to lose, and I need to have laser surgery to fix under eye bags (genetic). But after I get finished with all of that, I think I have what it takes to be a male model. I’ve heard for women, you need to be like age 16-21, after that you’re just too old to get started; but men can get started into their mid twenties.
I know I’m not about to pay thousands to John Robert Powers or Barbizon for “modeling classes.”
As of now, I’ve gone to different modeling agency websites and looked up their open call dates. But I think I want as many tips and pointers as possible before I go in there.

Most agencies will consider male models age 15-25. Over age 25 it’s very difficult to get started. You also need to be at least 5’11″ or it’s going to be almost impossible to be signed

Don’t bother with modeling school – they do nothing to improve your chances of getting signed by a big agency. You either attend open calls or send pictures directly to agencies. Some of the top agencies in LA are Ford, Elite, Wilhelmina, LA Models, Click and Vision
