experience of laser eye surgery?

i am considering having laser eye surgery as i have been wearing glasses and contact lenses for the past 15 years and the thought of not having to wear them again is brilliant,i am asking has anyone had the surgery done and if so what was it like? did it hurt? did it work? and do you advise it? thank you in advance.

I’ve wore glasses for 18 years and contacts for about 14 years.
I got Lasik a few months ago and LOVE it!!! I would do it over again a million times.

I was really nervous of course, but it was so quick. It literalllasikk less than 10 minutes.
You lay back on the chair under the lasik machine.
They put numbing drops on your eyes. They put this thing over your eyelids to keep your eye lids open. They cover your other eye.
They put more drops on your eye and they tell you to keep looking up at this red light.
At this point you can’t feel your eye and they start working. You don’t really know what’s going on. I could feel a little pressure on my eye like it was being suctioned a little. They had to be cutting the flap. They fold it back and it is super super blurry. You hear them say they are starting the laser. You see tiny bright flickers and hear the sound it makes (a kind of tiny popping sounds), but feel nothing. It took about 30 secs for the laser.
They rinse your eye and fold the flap back down. More water. They they put a contact lens “bandaid” on your eye. Then they do the same thing all over again on the other eye.

You can see pretty clear when the whole thing is over but it’s cloudy, like looking through greasy lenses. I got mine done Saturday morning and slept the rest of the day/the next day. Your eyes clear up and you can see! It’s great.

The only thing that sucks is you have to sleep in these goggles for the first week. But obviously that is not the end of the world. Plus you have perfect vision. Oh you also have to use drops in your eyes for about a month, because they get a little dry. Nothing that is unbearable or anything.

Definitely get it! Look around for good deals. The reason I got mine is because there was a special. $1000 total. Plus, I have lifetime warranty. If my prescription changes in the future they will re-do my eyes free. Just go to a reputable place.
