Does laser eye surgery work?

about laser eye surgery , i want to know how safe it is,if it works well and lasts along time.Also if u could explain the steps , that would be good

My mother had laser eye surgery and loved the results, and how easy and quick it was. In the morning she left and by the time I came home that afternoon she was relaxing in bed with goggles on.
