precise laser eye surgery

If the electricity suddenly died while you were having laser eye surgery, what would happen?!?

I have NO IDEA why I thought of this. I have 20/20 vision anyway. I suppose there would be a backup generator, but it would take a second or two to kick on, right? By then, you could really mess things up. For that matter, what if they lost power in the middle of any delicate, precise surgery?

Well that was an interesting question. But laser eye surgery equipment is very advanced. For example the machine I use is called the Zyoptix Z-100. It has got an eye tracker, which means the laser tracks for any movement of the patients eyes and starts moving and firing the laser when the procedure takes place. This technology is used only in Jet fighter planes. Such is tha accuracy of the machine. So the machine has a power back up and can operate even if the electricity, generator etc also fails.
