best laser eye surgery for astigmatism

Laser eye surgery NHS?

I have a condition in my right eye called an astigmatism (I think) my vision in it is terrible, I cant read at all from it and overall my view is like a black semi-transparent shroud covering 3/4 of my vision in my right eye.
would I be able to recieve laser eye surgery for this condition on the NHS? it is no minor impairment and will certaintly affect a career in the millitary (my aim after college). will choose a clear, concise answer as the best, thanks :)

You may have astigmatism in your right eye but astigmatism is fully corrected by glasses /contacts and it sounds like yours isn’t. If you have a black shroud covering 3/4 of your vision that is a totally seperate problem.

Laser eye surgery isn’t available normally on the NHS although there are always exceptions for people with special problems. However something which affects your eyesight even with glasses needs to be fixed and if it is fixable it will be fixed on the NHS. Have you been to the doctor about this? What have they said – its not astigmatism so it must be another condition.
