ARGH! my eyes always go red after applying eye make-up…?

My eyes always look blood shot after applying eye make-up.
After all my effort my eyes start to water & keep watering until i wash it off! Or they go blood shot red! I am afraid to use eyeliner because of this trait.
Is it my make-up? or is it my eyes? Would applying eye drops stop or prevent this? or should i buy specific eye make-up?
Thanx everyone xox
I use Maybelline eye pencil, but it’s so hard to apply i end up having to draw quiet hard on my eyes…maybe thats why my eyes go red?!
Does anyone know a good brand for eye pencils that are easy to apply (and sharpen)? Thanx for all your answers :)
Wow, thanks everyone for all your advise. I have written all your suggested brands down & am planning on trying them all.
Noemi: thanks sweety for your advise, I have tried gel eyeliners before but found they make my eyes itch! So I changed to pencils :)
Choosing best answer is going to be difficult…

You might be allergic but it sounds like you might just be pressing to hard.
As for drugstore eyeliner I use almay automatic eyeliner and that goes on fairly easily, the cheaper alternative is a automatic liner by LA colors which isn’t terrible but not half as dark, but it is only about $1, Almay isn’t that much more though.
I haven’t used it myself (I like auto liners) but I heard that Loreal HIP eyeliners work wonders as well.
If you want something that will last a ton of a time longer get 24/7 liner from Urban Decay, it glides on easily and stays on forever.
If you’d want to try it cream and gel liners are some of the easiest to get on I use Revlon and Coastal Scents for cream and gel liners but Loreal HIP cream liner is supposed to work just as well but it is a bit more pricey then the other two. Alot of high end brands also have gel or cream liners as well.

All and all I would just try another pencil and see if you still have that same problem and if you do you can always compare ingredients to see if theirs something similar in the products that are making you react badly to it but it could be because your rubbing to hard.

Hope I could be of some help! :]
