Eye Surgery- Gives Better Vision At Different Price
If we have myopia, we will usually choose to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, wearing those glasses and lenses is also very bothersome. Luckily, with the development of new technologies, some eye surgeries can be employed to cure myopia and receivers are no longer needed to wear glasses or contact lenses any more. And the fees of getting such surgeries can also be partially afforded by the insurance.
Among all eye surgeries, LASIK is very popular and effective. The procedure can be finished within less than an hour. Some numbing drops will be used before the surgery, so as to lessen the pain. And some other medications will also be used to calm the patients. Generally, the highest fee that insurance will afford is $2000 for each eye.
For sufferers of cataracts, surgery is very ideal. The laser will be used to repair and reshape the cornea. A small hole will be made in the cornea and the extra fluid in the cornea will be drained out. And some other extra work will be done to the cornea after that. After the surgery, patients will always regain their perfect vision. And the highest fee that insurance can afford is $3000 for each eye.
The implantable lens surgery is very expensive and will not be covered by most insurance company. If one has very serious myopia, he is suggested to receive such lens implant surgery. Receivers of such surgery are proved to enjoy very perfect vision and they will have to re-receive the surgery some years later. Of course, most receivers say they would like to receive that surgery again. This surgery is the most expensive one among all eye surgeries. The average cost of this surgery is $3500. Anyway, good vision is much important than money.
The cost of receiving those surgery matters a lot on which one to take. If the insurance can afford much of the cost, LASIK surgery is ideal. The cut will be recovered quickly and receivers will enjoy very nice vision. If one is bothered by the contacts and glasses, eye surgery might be better choices. Anyway, one should consult with his eye doctors before receiving such surgery.

Gastric Bypass/lasik?
iam very much overweight and i have been looking into gastric bypass for sometime now ive been yo-yo dieting for too many years, but iam joining the marines later next year but i can always hold it off if u can. can i still join even if i had this operation also with laser eye surgery
I’m not sure. After gastric bypass you are very limited in the amount of food you can consume at one time and the USMC boot camp is the most rigerous of all branches of the military. You can’t eat when you need to, only when your CO says… also because your body won’t abosorb nutirents in the same way you may not have access to the extra vitamins and nutrients you need. Talk to a recruiting officer before you make any decisions. There are other alternates to gastric bypass that may work for you, and your goal of joining the military. A good diet group such as weight watcher might be a good idea and also start doing some physical training before boot camp to get in shape. My nephew almost had to start boot camp all over because he was in sick bay for several weeks due to stress fractures in both legs. He stuck it out and recently finished his service, including two tours in Iraq.
