laser eye surgery is it worth it

INFORMATION ON LASER EYE SURGERY?

is there anyone who has had laser eye surgery….and if so, was it worth it and did ur eyesight really improve so that u dont have to wear glasses or contacts anymore? pros and cons? Im 18 is that old enuf?

Your optometrist or opthamologist should be working with you on what the better choice is. Everybody’s situation and eyes are different; don’t expect the same results as everyone else.

In short, the major factor of undergoing LASIK of any kind is if it will bring your vision back to 20/20 permanently; otherwise, there’s no point in doing it, and it turns out to be a waste of money. Your eye doctor will factor in your age (though, you are at a good age to do it…you are young, but not too young), but more importantly, consider the dynamics of your eyes. You have to meet a certain criteria in order to even be considered for LASIK, such as your eyes not being worse than 2 diopters (ideally), and maintaining stability (your prescription has not changed for 2 years).

Those are two major factors your eye doctor will consider if LASIK will be successful for you, so ask if you are a good candidate.

For my situation, lasik of any kind is out of the question…my prescription keeps changing every year, and I’m waaaaay out of range for it to even be successful. A year later, I’ll be back at -1.00, then -2.00, etc. I’ve dealt with my contacts for years, and now it’s just part of a normal daily routine.
