i was talking about being a pilot.i guess i left that out.
i would like to know if this article is correct.

http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/genjoin/a/pilotvision.htm

oh, well thanks mark.

Yes the article is true. Rod Powers that is the main military guy at about.com is a very informative person and helped me out along with the people in forum before I joined the USAF in 2002. I’m not a pilot but I do work with them. I wouldn’t get it done before you joined, but I would reccommend it after you have been selected for pilot training. If you already have your degree talk to the USAF Officer recruiter, they tend to have the better up to date information on people that already have a degree. If you go through the USAF Academy, you can usually get it done there while you are going through it, but the cutoff [I think] is still 23 years old.

Additional:
I also looked through the AFI [AFI 48-123] and saw that it won’t disqualify you. The funny thing about joining the military and getting it done while active duty for me is that I have to go to a NAVY facility to get it done. Its kind of hilarious. But I think its because my base doesn’t have the capability and the NAVY base close by does. Plus I would trust a NAVY doctor before an USAF one when it comes to my eyes.
