Can two people claim medical expenses for a child in Canada?

If the mothlaser eye surgeryit the bill for a new pair of glasses or laser eye surgery and say the bill is around $1500 each can we each claim our portion?

No you would be wasting money. In order to claim medical you must subtract 3% of your net income. If you split it you would have to subtract the 3% twice. Therefor the credit allways goes on the lower income as long as they are taxable, since medical is a non refundable tax credit meaning you must owe taxes to use the credit to reduce the amount owing.
