how much roughly does laser eye surgery cost per eye if prescription is (roughly) -8.0?
thinking about getting it done but have to travel miles to have consultation and don’t want to waste my time if it costs too much!
Cool – thanks guys. I have checked and there is somewhere within 100 miles of me (Optical Express) that can do up to -12.0 so I fall well within the limits of corrective treatment. I haven’t had any other issues with my eyes (such as trauma, glaucoma etc.) so it should be relatively straight forward.
Unfortunately they won’t even give me a rough estimate on cost and I’m reluctant to travel and have the consultation if it turns out to be far too expensive.
They advertise at ‘from £395 per eye’ but I hear that it is rare that anyone would ever pay that little.
At -8.0 you are getting near the limit of what they can correct with laser surgery, you might want to investigate other treatments (various kinds of implanted lenses, etc) before making a final descission.
