diabetic retinopathy?

I am a diabetic and had lasers on thursday to close some blood vessels that could start to leak in my left eye.The surgery took 5 minutes and the shadows i preiously had were gone. After the drops wore off my vision in this eye got so bad(blurry)that even with glasses on i could notmake anything out at all.I then went back to the docs and they checked my eye and said everything was ok and that normal vision should be back in a couple of days, but there does’nt seem to be any improvement yet, have any of you had this procedure done and how long does the bluriness last?

Diabetic retinopathy includes microaneurysms, hemorrhages, exudates, and macular edema occurring with diabetes of at least several years’ duration. Vision rarely decreases until late in the disease. Diagnosis is by funduscopy; further details are elucidated by fluorescein angiography. Treatment includes controlling diabetes and laser coagulation of threatening lesions.
People with diabetes should see an ophthalmologist to have their eyes dilated once a year. This lets the doctor see the retina. Frequent eye exams and laser surgery, if necessary, can prevent blindness in most cases.
Patients who have good control of their blood sugar and blood pressure may improve their outcomes.
