laser eye surgery boots

I want to know how the military deals with eye surgery, interested in Marines.?

I wear contacts everyday, yes I know going to boot camp I have to wear glasses during that time. I have heard that you may get 1 surgery, not sure if that’s true, so I was wondering if once I completed boot camp and wanted the laser eye surgery would they allow me to get the surgery before I would get shipped to my next training? or would they not want me to get it at all? I am interested in Infantry

You will not be able to get it done that quickly. It can take awhile (years) to get an approval. You will need to be at your first command, see the doctor, get a referral and then wait your turn. You can look into getting it done out in town but it will be out of your own pocket. The military will not pay for it
