laser eye surgery goes wrong

laser eye surgery goes wrong
Having each eye done on separate days durinlaser eye surgeryry?

I am in the process of getting a laser eye surgery, currently doing all the pre-tests. I’m severly nearsighted, -5.5 right eye and -7 left, so it will be a major improvement in my life.

My mother says that I should get it done one eye at the time, on separate days, so if the intervention goes wrong I’m blind only on 1 eye. I never heard of such a thing, all my friends who went through the procedure had both eyes done on the same day and everything worked out perfectly. Furthermore, it wouldn’t even be possible because I have to spend at least 2 weeks without wearing contacts, just glasses, so what would I do if they did one eye at the time, wear glasses with just one lens? lol I don’t think so. Is my mom worrying for nothing?

i like Dr P’s answer.

frog is talking about cataract extraction. so is your mom, probably.

you do not need to do it on separate days. refractive procedures are mutually exclusive events between the R & L eyes. doing it on the same day or different days still has no effect on the success or failure of each individual procedure.
