Why does it feel like there’s something in my eyes?
My eyes have been feeling very sensitive recently. The pain is on the surface of the eyes. It feels a little like there’s an eyelash in them or something, but I don’t see anything in there when I look in a mirror. Also sometimes it hurts laser eye surgeryyes and move my eyes around. I had laser eye surgery about eight years ago, but they’ve been fine all this time. This just started about a week ago. Any thoughts what this might be?

Is this a feeling of “grittiness”…especially at night? How old are you? It might not related to your surgery at all. You need to see your ophthalmologist.

You are a little young for this concern, but again, you never know. Grittiness could mean that you have ocular hypertension; it does have a genetic component. Of course I am no doctor, but you might want to check on this in the websites. A gritty feeling is a symptom, and I am sure other things as well. Make sure you visit an MD because that way you’ll be sure to have your pressure checked. In case this is the problem, it can be treated.
