will the military pay for laser eye surgery
laser eye surgery in the military?
this is pretty out dated, but while ago i heard you could get laser eye surgery while in the military and the gov’t would pay for it, i have pretty craptastic vision so i was just wondering if i could get laser eye surgery while in the military rather than wearing those birth control glasses
on a side note, will my craptastic vision disqualify me from certain jobs in the military, i’m aware it will for being a pilot and jobs like that, but i am aiming towards the infantry
well if my memory serves me right (which it typically doesn’t) i think it’s -6 and -7 or something, i’m not sure, that probably doesn’t even mean anything, the limit of my knowledge on my own vision is that my glasses are really thick (how sad is that) but i get along just fine with my glasses/contacts, but when i take um off i’m blind as a bat
LASIK eye surgery is paid for my the military, you will have to wear the BC glasses while in basic/AIT though. lasik isn’t available until you arrive at your unit. You have to go through a simple screening process but it is relatively painless. In the Army it isn’t that bad of a wait, people who signed up for it were having the procedure done a month or two later.
Your bad vision will disqualify you from certain jobs but they’ll let you in the infantry most likely, how bad is your vision?
