how to put eye drops

What is wrong with my dog’s eye and how do i make it better without going to the vet?

We saw her this morning and her eye was squinting and puff and stuff was coming out of it. She keeps itching it and we put eye drops in it and it helped for a little but not for long. what can we do to help her? thanks guys

In case it might be an insect bite, you can wipe it gently with a wet wash cloth. Remember that human eye drops were not made for dogs’ eyes.

If it’s not better tomorrow you should take her to the vet. You’re not qualified to diagnose any more than we are. If it’s an infection and you don’t take her to a vet, the price SHE will pay can be HUGE… like loss of the eye… or loss of eyesight.

If you wanted us to have enough information to help you more, you should have told us what the “stuff” coming out looked like. That is important information.

If you have an e-collar, put it on her to prevent her from scratching it…. OR… if you have a toddler in the house… put some toddler’s socks on her paws so she can’t harm herself by scratching the eye. -!-
