Can I put eye drops in my ears?

I think I remember my ENT recommending this because when I was little, ear drops hurt so bad I wouldn’t hold still. My question now, is, when I have really bad allergies, my ears itch on the inside. Can I put anti-allergy eye drops in them to the same effect? They itch so bad I feel like sticking things in there to scratch (Don’t worry, I don’t actually do this, I know it’s bad, but it itches that much). I have been dealing with ear issues my whole life, but they aren’t covered under my insurance right now (Pre-existing condition and all that crap). Could someone who has some experience with this help me. Thank you.

Hi there. Though there are certain drops that you can put in your ears that were originally made for eyes, without consulting a doctor, I wouldnt do it. For itching, we recommend a product called DermOtic, which is peanut oil, essentially. Since youre are having insurance troubles, you may want to just try baby oil or mineral oil. No harm with either of those. Good luck!
