lubricating eye drops

Is it safe to use eye drops on a regular basis?

I use lubricating/moisturizing eye drops every day and night, even if my eyes feel fine. Should I only use them if my eyes are dry, or is it okay to use them regularly?
There are some contradicting answers, so can yall put in some resources, please? Thanks!

You should probably only use them when you need them. Don’t become too dependent on something you don’t actually need otherwise you may be come immune when you actually need it.
