How do I care for green eye boogers?

My daughter has had an extensive amount of this green gooey stuff in both eyes. I have been cleaning it with a cloth and warm water. It’s been 4 days should I take her to the doctor’s or keep caring for her.?
Also she has a runny nose so what should I do?

Sounds like she’s got a little conjunctivitis going on (AKA – pink eye, or an eye infection. Eyes don’t always have to be red with conjunctivitis.) My daughter had it last fall, and she had the awful gooey eye boogers that would re-appear just minutes after I wiped them away. Her eyes weren’t red and she wasn’t even itching them, but ugh…they looked terrible!

Call your pediatrician. This infection is *so* common and doctors and nurses are so familiar with it that you may not even have to bring your baby in. If you describe the symptoms over the phone, they may be able to call in the medication to treat it. My daughter’s eyes improved after just one dose of the drops.

Good luck, hope she feels better!
