Strong contact lens cleaner solution in the eye?

My mum was cleansing her hard contact lenses and accidently put a lens full of the strong cleaner stuff right in her eye. It was hurting loads and she couldn’t open her eye to get the lens out. She did eventually and asked me to look – it was really red and there was a bit of white/yellow gunk (and a few transparent blobs in the eye?) and it looked a tiny bit wrinkled in the corner of the eye. She’s been washing it with running water and some Optrex eyedrops but she’s still in a lot of pain.
I’ve been looking at some of the questions and answers on this and i know that a lot of people get this, and say to just wait for like 24 hours, but i wanted to double check as she seems to have worse symptoms than other askers? Should she be going to a doctor or something? I don’t think she’ll be able to drive, so i’d have to ask the neighbours?

Her eye is also quite swollen :S

Definitely its corneal ulcer due to the chemicals. You have to go to the doctor for proper antibiotics. I know a lot of eye cream remedies but the doctor is the better judge. Do not wear contacts until it is healed or until the doctor said so.
