Why are my eyes red?

For the past few weeks I have had a problem with my right eye …. Red has continued to but only half of it, the inner half (iris right if you're looking for me.) Sometimes, it is sensitive to light and it is difficult to keep open at times, like now. This does not feel like something is stuck there, I tried 3 different types of 3 drops (tears Artificial Red Rescue and relief Dry Environment), but do not want too because I know that you can use more questions than answers. All ideas?

It can be scratched cornea (or other parts of the eye). In addition, you may have contracted an infection. These problems are even more likely if you wear contact lenses. See an optometrist. =]
