How can I know if I have severe nearsightedness.?

I had Lazik surgery in 1998. They said I was moderate.My vision they said was L.eye 400/20. My R. eye 200/20.I had to have cataract surgery In both eyes (Jan. and Apr.-2004).My retina detached( 6-2004) causing me to have ER.surgery. The clinic that I think caused it ( which I’m not sure if they did)is saying I had severe nearsighted before Lazik .So I don’t know if my eyes were.

yes 400/20 and 200/20 is severe nearsightedness.

i think at 40/20 or 60/20 you need glasses to drive and 200/20 is considered legally blind without glasses.
